Goal

Let’s start the lesson with some reading, but slightly different today: You are going to listen to some situations then match the sentence that corresponds to the Audio. After that read the accounts and then check your answers.

Once you have finished, you can go to the next step.

Life’s awkward situations

aquí pondremos tres Audios propio de trainlang. Los alumnos deberán unir los audios con los 3 textos que figuran a continuación

1. Jack was having a shower, enjoying the pleasure of the hot water while he was playing a song. He was singing along when the telephone rang. He turned off the tap, and tried to  grab his phone. He slipped and almost fell on the floor because his feet were wet. He was getting out of the shower when the phone stopped ringing.

2. Nathalie and Jack are friends from university. From time to time Jack invites Jane for dinner  to catch up. Last Friday they were having dinner when Jack proposed. Nathalie didn’t know how to react; she certainly didn’t expect it.

3. Jane and Matthew were having a row about their household chores when Jane’s mother knocked on the door.

Reflection

  • What do the phrases in blue have in common?
  • What do the phrases in green have in common?
  • What is the word in red used for?

The answer is in step 3.

Conclusion

Have you finished? Then you can move on to step 2.
