General notions

Be going to

  • We use be going to + verb  to talk about:
    • future predictions when we can see , or we know something is going to happen.There is evidence of it.

Will

  • We use the future simple to talk about:
  • future prediction when we think, guess about the future.It is mainly an opinion.

Difference

You can use will or going to to make predictions about the future. 

  • Use going to when you see evidence that something is going to happen. 
  • Use will when the prediction is what you think, but have no apparent evidence.
