Lesson 6 – Step 1 – Reading

Goal
Let’s start the lesson with some reading. This time it’s a review of a famous film. You can read it on your own or play the audio and follow along.
Once you have finished, you can go to the next step.
KNIVES OUT
Do you like thrillers? If you do, you will definitely enjoy this film starring Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas and Jamie Lee Curtis. What is Knives Out all about?
The family of Harlan Thrombey, a wealthy novelist, attends his 85th birthday party at his Massachusetts mansion. The next morning, Harlan’s housekeeper, Fran, finds him dead. The police believe Harlan’s death to be a suicide, but private detective Benoit Blanc is anonymously paid to investigate this strange story. Was the family behind this? Did they want his money?
If you like mystery and suspense, this one will definitely get your attention. However, you won’t enjoy it that much if you are really interested in special effects and science fiction; this one has nothing of that. One of the best parts of the film is the acting, as you can imagine from the cast. What surprised me the most was Chris Evans’ performance; it’s the best acting I’ve ever seen from him.
So, what are you waiting for? If you have some time to watch a film, go to your favourite streaming platform, search for Knives Out, relax, and enjoy.
