Being an Actor Is Not Easy

Last Friday there was a casting call for a play, and the day before, I was more than ready for it. I had spent the whole month rehearsing for this audition. I was sure the role would be mine.

I had read the whole play and had studied all my lines. I had asked for a day off work, so I could attend the casting call. I had practised my lines in front of all my friends and family, even my cat. I had also bought a new suit to wear on the day of the casting because I was hoping to cause a good impression on the director to get the role. I had even learned to speak with a French accent because it was a Molière play.

Now it was finally Friday! But unfortunately, much to my dismay, I woke up with a terrible flu! I couldn’t even stand, let alone audition for a play and do a French accent. After all the hard work I had put in, there was nothing I could do. One thing is certain: being an actor is not easy.
